An introduction to Signal Averaged Electrocardiography.
Pak Armed Forces Med J Jan ;53(2):215-9.

Although 12 lead standards ECG provides a lot of information about the heart but much more remains hidden. Signal Averaged Electrocardiography (SAECG) is a technique that extracts this hidden information by increasing signal to noise ratio. The "noise" in orthogonal ECG ranges from 8-10 pv and is generated primarily by skeletal muscle activity. This level of noise masks the temporal and spectral features of ECG that identify patients with ventricular tachycardia. In SAECG noise is reduced to less than 1.0uv. This is a review article.
