Cancer Research and Registration: Presenting a case for population-based cancer registries in Pakistan.
Pak J Med Res Jan ;43(1):29-34.

Establishing and running a PBCR will not in itself eliminate the menace of malignant disease. Rather it is a necessary condition, but not sufficient in itself to achieve this objective. It is in effect a very large and time consuming longitudinal/prospective study, and one of a series of initiative which need to be taken if the scourge of cancer is to be got under control. Pains have to be taken, and great efforts have to be made. HTRs will be of no help in cancer research without collaborating with each other and other sources of cancer documentation mentioned above. If they go down this road, however, they will find it an extremely rewarding exercise in the long run. It requires patience, as one can only expect to reap the fruit after a certain period of time. This is a review article.
