Otolaryngological manifestations of Tuberculosis.
Pak J Chest Med Jan ;9(1):18-26.

Otolaryngological involvement in tuberculosis was thought to be rare. Today`s literature does not support it. Due to increase in the incidence of tuberculosis in general, the Picture has changed here too. This study was carried out to note the manifestations of the disease in various regions of otolaryngology. We were able to study seventeen cases of otolaryngological tuberculosis in a comparatively short period of five years. Concentration is mainly laid on manifestations of the disease in upper aero digestive tract and head and neck region. However clinical presentations, differential diagnosis, laboratory work up, treatment and its effects have been studied in the form of follow up to know the whole range of the manifestations. In this part of the world tuberculosis should be considered first in differential diagnosis of any lesion in a site of otolaryngology.
