Foreign bodies in Ear in children.

Insertion of foreign bodies in the ear is a common problem in children. The foreign bodies may be inanimate e.g. beads, stones, seeds etc. or animate. In the present study it was found that most of the children (81%) having foreign body in the car were male and 71% were in the 4-8 years age group. Beads were found to be the most common foreign bodies (67%). The various methods used for removal of foreign bodies were suction, syringing and use of foreign body hook.
