Health research on children confines mostly to disease incidence and prevalence in Pakistan. Through this small scale survey, conducted in a private school, operating in semi urban locality of Peshawar, health, behavior and basic health indicators of age 5-15 years children have been evaluated. Over excitability, aggressiveness, bullying and domineering are found in 28, 38, 33 & 43% of children respectively. Sualghtering, more common in boys is detected in 26.7%. Asymmetry of hips & shoulders on walking has been found to an extent of 1% with obvious deformity of 1.5%. Nits & lice with habit of scalp scratching is observed in 6% children. Data has also revealed the prevalence of unusual pallor on face, eruption & rashes on skin, fresh dressed wounds mostly in boys and unusual baldness. Difficulty in reading both from black board & book has also been found in over 10% children. Development of health education material for inclusion in curriculum, along with training of teachers for proper implementation, is suggested.
