Pak Armed Forces Med J Jan ;48(2):86-9.

Role of chemoprophylaxis was studied in 381 operated cases at Department of Surgery, Combined Military Hospital, Rawalpindi. They were divided into two groups. Group 'A' (188 cases) was given routine antibiotic cover while group 'B' (193 cases ) was not given any antibiotic prophylaxis. Both were monitored for post-operative wound infection and other complications. The results of the latter group have in fact been better than the former.
