Epiploic Appendagitis.

A 67 years old lady presented in emergency room with low grade fever and acute left lower abdominal pain. On examination tenderness was positive in left iliac fossa while the rest of the examination was unremarkable. TLC count was slightly raised. The initial ultrasound scan of abdomen was normal. Contrast enhanced CT scan of abdomen showed approximately 1 cm oval fat attenuating lesion adjacent to distal descending colon associated with fat stranding (Figure 1 and 2). No other abnormality was detected. Radiologic diagnosis of epiploic appendagitis was made. The patient was kept on antibiotics and anti-inflammatory agents for 7 days. Later patient was discharged in healthy condition and her symptoms completely resolved. Clinical follow-up was unremarkable.
