Video Capsule Endoscopy.
J Pak Inst Med Sci Jan ;15(1):890-2.

Over the past decade Video Capsule Endoscopy (VCE) has been specifically developed to fill this vacuum, with the potential of viewing the entire GI tract. The given Diagnostic Imaging System consists of three components. The first is the M2A single use capsule measuring 11 x 26 mm weighing 3.7 gram. This is an easy to swallow capsule made of biocompatible plastic containing a silicon chip camera, lens, light source, battery and a radio transmitter. Images are taken at 2 per second and transmitted to the second part of the system which is a data recorder worn around the waist. The third part of the system is a modified standard personal computer designed for storage, presentation and processing of the acquired images. The video captured by the capsule camera is seen as a movie usually at a speed of 5 to 10 frames a second. This is a review article.
