Dental health and attitude towards Dentistry; A survey in Quetta district community.

A summary of sociological data collected during a socio-dental survey conducted in Quetta District (Balochistan) selected as having fewer than the national average number of persons. Oral conditions were considered under five headings Oral hygiene, periodontal health, dental decay and Fluorides Prostheses. It was found that the number of persons having poor oral hygiene, the gums were un-healthy decayed teeth were present. Dento-facial anomalies were recorded. The cause of missing teeth was assessed with reference to broken teeth or cracked teeth as stated by the subjects. The number of persons without dentures decreases with increasing age. The data collected during interviews from adults indicated that no dental treatment health services were available in the community. An attempt has been made in this present Survey to study and report on the dental health the dental services and the attitudes towards dental health and dental services.
