Background: The cesarean section rate has been increasing both in developed and developing world. The c/section carries 3-fold risk of mortality compared with vaginal deliveries. This study was conducted to determine the mode of deliveries after previous one c/section, maternal and fetal complications. Method: This study was conducted in obstetric and Gynecology Deptt. of ATH from 1997 to 1999. A total of 182 patients were admitted with history of one previous c/section. A detail proforma was recorded. 103(56.5%) patients were given trial of labor. 79(43.5%) had elective c/section. Inclusion criteria include lower segment c/section for non-recurrent cause, or imprecisely labeled CPD not proved clinically or on X-ray pelvimetery. Results: Vaginal delivery occurred in 55(53.5%) of cases. Emergency lower segment c/section was done in 48(46.7%) of cases. Maternal complication occurred 8(14.5%) and foetal complication in 12(25%) cases.
