A Case of Hypoparathyroidism and Intracranial Calcification.

A 16 year old girl presented with 8 years history of generalized tonic clonic and myoclonic seizures, bilateral cataract, short stature and extrapyramidal rigidity. Her biochemical abnormalities included a serum calcium level of 7.00 mg/dl (n.v, 8.5-10.5 mg/dl), phosphate 8.4 mg/dl (n.v, 2.2-4.5 mg/dl), alkaline phosphatase 166 u/L (n.v upto 140 u/L) and serum parathyroid hormone level of 4.8 pg/ml (n.v, 9-55 pg/ml). A plain CT scan of brain without contrast revealed extensive basal and extrabasal calcification.
