J Coll Physicians Surg Pak Jan ;11(8):516-8.

This is a case report of a 40 years old patient who presented with contracture at the right elbow with stiffness. He also had weakness of right upper and lower limbs of recent onset along with history of generalized fits for the last two years. Fifteeen or sixteen years ago he developed bilateral cataracts for which he was operated. Biochemistry of his serum revealed very low calcium level but increased serum phosphate and parathormone levels. X-rays skull showed intracranial calcification and subsequently CT scan of brain showed extensive intracerebral calcifications including those of basal ganglia. His skeletal survey did not show any congenital abnormality so he was diagnosed as a case of pseudohypoparathyroidism type 1b.
