Reproductive health matters, rather more for adolescents!.
J Pak Med Assoc Jan ;57(10):521-2.

In Pakistan, a recent study shows that both male and female adolescents generally refer to local hakeems (Grecoarab healers) traditional birth attendants and quacks as the front line providers. Knowledge regarding various SRH matters and issues is very limited. Moreover, the classmates and friends are the routine source of information on SRH matter.4 There is a definitive need to educate the young ones on themes such as physical bodily changes during puberty; the onset of menstrual cycle and the importance of maintaining hygiene; onset of nocturnal emission in males; the normal sexual intercourse; the matters pertaining to contraception and contraceptives methods; pregnancy; HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections. This is a review.
