Pak Paed J Jan ;31(4):167-70.

Objective: Objective of the present study was to observe plasma lipid profile (Triglycerides, Cholesterol, LDL-Cholesterol and HDL-Cholesterol) in childhood non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) patients. Materials and Methods: 180 subjects were included in the project. The subjects comprised of two groups; first as Controls (90 in number) and the second as patients of childhood non-Hodgkin lymphoma (also 90 in number). Fasting blood samples were collected for estimation. Results: Plasma lipid levels were highly significantly (P<0.01) decreased in childhood non-Hodgkin lymphoma patients. Conclusion: As there is a change in plasma lipid profile of childhood non-Hodgkin lymphoma patients, the plasma lipid profile may be helpful for diagnosis of the disease.
