Middle cerebral artery peak systolic velocity assessment for fetal anemia by doppler ultrasound.
Pak Paed J Jan ;33(2):92-5.

Objective: The aim of this case control study was to assess the middle cerebral artery Peak systolic velocity for diagnosis of fetal anemia in Rh negative mother. Methods: 21 fetuses of singleton Rh negative mother with anaemia were paired matched gestational age with a 20 control without risk of fetal anemia. Student¡®t¡¯ test was used for statistical analysis. Result: Middle cerebral artery - Peak systolic velocity of study group was significantly higher (p¡Ü0.001) than the control group. The cord hemoglobin of study group was also statistically lower (p<0.001) than control group. Conclusion: Middle cerebral artery - Peak systolic velocity in fetus at risk of anaemia provides non invasive screening of fetal anemia (Fetus of Rh negative Mother).
