Rawal Med J Jan ;37(2):165-7.

Objective: To review our experience with gastric pull up in long gap esophageal atresia at our center. Patients and Methods: We reviewed all patients with long gap esophageal atresia who underwent gastric pull up surgery at Children Hospital, Islamabad, Pakistan from January 2008 to June 2011. Results: A total of 10 patients were included and 7 were males with mean age of 2.3 years. Two patients had minor leaks from the neck wound that healed spontaneously. Two patients died; one due to sepsis and other during ventilation. Mean hospital stay was 13 days (range 11-16 days). Conclusion: The gastric pull-up procedure for the isolated esophageal atresia was a good option with minimum complications and satisfactory results. (Rawal Med J 2012;37:165-167).
