Simultaneous bilateral femoral neck fractures secondary to epileptic seizures: treatment by hemiarthroplasty on one side and dynamic hip screw on the contra lateral side.
J Pak Orthop Assoc Jan ;23(3):126-8.

Fracture of the neck of femur is common in elderly people. It often occursin a single hip, with osteoporosis being the most common cause. Simultaneous bilateral femoral neck fractures are extremely rare and associated with various conditions. This article presents a case of bilateral, displaced femoral neck fractures in a woman who had a witnessed epileptic fit. To the best of our knowledge, we present the first reported case in literature in which an elderly lady had a subcapital fracture neck of femur on the right side treated with a hemiarthroplasty and intertrochanteric fracture of the neck of femur on the left treated with a four hole dynamic hip screw in a single setting.
