Tuberculosis presenting as osteoarthritis: early diagnosis with hip arthroscopy.
J Pak Orthop Assoc Jan ;23(3):109-12.

Tuberculosis of joints is a common presentation in our population. In most cases the diagnosis is easily established on the basis of history, physical examination as well as supporting lab tests and imaging. In some cases this may be difficult and the presentation of TB of joints may be like advanced osteoarthritis. If such a patient undergoes an arthroplasty, this may result in loosening of the arthroplasty. We present our experience with diagnosing TB of the hip joint with the help of arthroscopy prior to planning an arthroplasty.
