Open enucleation of osteoid osteoma tibia.

OBJECTIVE: To assis the outcome of enucleation of osteoid osteoma in our setting. STUDY DESIGN: Descriptive study. PLACE AND DURATION OF STUDY: This is multicenter study conducted at department of Orthopaedics Avicenna Medical College Lahore from June 2007 to June 2008. PATIENTS & METHODS: All cases presenting to out patient were included as convenience samples prospectively. All were operated with subperiosteal paring away of sclerotic bone followed by open enucleation. RESULTS: A follow up of average two years approximately showed immediate relief from pain followed. No early or late complications were noted. CONCLUSION: The procedure is safe, curative, followed by very low morbidity, A large scale study is justified to further evaluate the procedure.
