Evaluation of dietary compliance and awareness of type 2 Diabetic patients of district Sanghar, Sindh.

Background: Type 2 diabetes has been a rising problem throughout the world. Considering Pakistan, thisdisease has been spreading with rapid pace. Unfortunately, system of healthcare in Pakistan is not up to the mark. In this regard, the patients and their families are required to have proper knowledge, education, training and self-management to improve thisdisease. Similarly, if properself-management is provided than thischronic disease can easily be handled. Those patients that are facing type 2 diabetes need moral support and motivation to deal with the disease proactively The primary objective of this study is to offer awareness to type 2 diabetic patients concerning howto improvetheir health thatare resident in Sanghar, Sindh. Methods: This research was cross sectional comparative study as all the results of the study are compared in compliance with the dia bet icdiet between the individual of type 2 diabetes in Sanghar, Sindh. As the questionnaire made and presented to 468 respondents. The respondents filled only 300 questionnaires. Moreover, data was collected in both respective including primary and secondary data. The technique for sampling is convenience sampling. Results: The correlation analysis showed that all the variables were positively correlated and they had positive relationship presented. Hence, t he value 0.150 was belong ingto knowledge ondiabeticdiet; the value 0.446ca me of health education or awareness, whereas the dietary compliance contained value of 0.305. T he regression analysis showed that the overallvalueof all the varia bles were 0.468 in which the estimatederror were 1.477 respectively. Conclusion: It isdetermined bythe current st udy theta!l the diabetic patients concerning type 2 that are admitted in hospital are due to improper diet. It is required by all the health care institutions present in Sanghar to focus on the procedure of self-management and offer proper planning education as well as awareness to patients and their fa miliesto improve their health.
