J Postgrad Med Inst Jan ;28(1):109-10.

Subcutaneous fungal infection is one of the various forms of fungal infectionin which implantation of an organism occurs via trauma and primarilyinvolves the dermis and subcutaneous tissue. Due to the depth of tissue involvementboth medical and surgical intervention is required. We report acase of a 55-year-old female presenting with a swelling of the right foot, biopsyof which revealed a subcutaneous fungal infection. With post-operativeoral antifungal administration, local excision, regular dressings followed by asplit skin graft, this patient’s condition improved.
