Review of C.T. findings in lesions of the thorax.
J Pak Inst Med Sci Jan ;7(1):413-7.

Computerized tomography is one of the latest modalities that can detect density difference as small as 0.5% within body tissues. The appearance of pathologies in scan will depend on the extent of disease, the amount of collateral circulation, and also the nature of lesion. C.T. plays interpretative and predictive role in three areas of lung parenchymal pathology: Solitary Pulmonary Nodules, searching for occult pulmonary metastasis and bronchogenic carcinoma. A study was conducted in the Department of Radiology, Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, Islamabad to ascertain the diagnostic and corrective approach of lesions pertaining to diseases of thorax. The Radiology Department of PIMS has a very large catchment area. It caters to the upper Punjab starting from Gujranwala to Attock, Mianwali and Chakwal Districts, whole of Azad Kashmir, Northern Areas and NWFP. Patients of all varieties pour into the department with various diseases.
