Quantification of Lower Limb Arterial Disease: Quickscan Vs Angiograms.
Ann King Edward Med Uni Jan ;5(3,4):215-6.

In a six year prospective study the ability of Quisckscan was assessed by comparing it with intra-arterial digital subtraction angiography. In 171 patients 981 arterial segments were studied. A Quickscan frequency ratio of 1:3 or greater had a sensitivity of 56% and specificity of 88% in detecting a stenosis of more than 50% diameter reduction in the iliac artery, as shown on IADSA. The sensitivity and specificity in the femoral arteries were 47% and 91% respectively, and in the popliteal artery 23% and 98% respectively. In the detection of occlusion, Quickscan had a sensitivity and specificity of 67% and 91% respectively in the iliac artery, 87% and 85% respectively in the femoral artery and 89% and 92% respectively in the popliteal artery. Thus the strength of agreement between Quickscan and IADSA falls in moderate and good..
