Management of Singleton, Term Breech in Primigravida.

A study was carried out at Lahore General Hospital, Lahore affiliated with postgraduate medical institute Lahore, to find out the best possible management of singleton term primigravida with breech presentation. During the period of five years 18,982 patients were delivered. Total number of term singleton breech presentation were 824 (4.3%) and primi breech were 256(1.3%). Out of 256 term singleton primi breeches 194 (71.8%) were delivered vaginally and 62 (28.2%) were delivered by caesarean section. There were 7 still births (3.6% ) and 14 neonatal deaths (7.2%) in vaginally delivered group. 12 (6.2%) vaginally delivered neonates had apgar score less than 7 and 3 (4.8%) neonates delivered by caesarean section has apgar score less than 7, but they were resuscitated. In caesarean section group there was no neonatal mortality.
