Assessment of oral health impact on the quality of life: a study.

Objective of the present study was to assess oral health impact on quality of life in adult population seen at the Outpatient Department, Institute of Dentistry, Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences, Jamshoro. It was a descriptive case series study and was conducted from January 2015 to June 2015. Subjects were randomly included. An investigation was done by using a combination of pre designed questionnaire and clinical examination of dental caries was done. Patients who were in the age group of 35-44 years, irrespective of gender and dentulous patients were included in present study. Patients with neurological disorders were excluded. Out of 320 participants 70% were males and remaining 30% were females. Most of the subjects (70.9%) reported with oral health problems. The highest impact was on eating (52%) and lowest on speaking and pronouncing, which in turn, had an impact on their Quality of Life.
