First looks can be deceiving!.
Al-Shifa J Ophthalmol Jan ;11(1):41-4.

A twenty years old boy presented with a conjunctival growth in the left eye for four years duration which did not show any change in size. He had no history of bleeding from the lesion, irritation, trauma, infection or previous ocular surgery. He merely presented for cosmetic reasons. The examination revealed a visual acuity of 20/20 in both the eyes. The growth wasn’t adherent to the sclera and had prominent vessels. The growth looked like a benign lesion of the conjunctiva. The tough and vascular tissue was therefore excised and sent for histopathology. The defect was covered by an end to end conjunctival suturing. The histopathology showed the lesion to be conjunctival leiomyoma. Trichome was used to highlight the spindle shaped cells and immuno-histochemistry using Anti-smooth muscle actin antibody and Vimentin was done to confirm the diagnosis.
