Role of Nuclear Medicine in diagnosis of Liver Hemangioma.

Nuclear Medicine has an important role in confirmation of diagnosis of liver hemangioma Tc-99m labeled RBC scan is not only highly sensitive and specific investigation but is also simple, non-invasive and cost effective. A young lady presented with complaint of pain in RHC at Punjab Institute of Nuclear Medicine (Pinups, Faisalabad. Her abdominal ultrasonography, liver scan and Tc-99m labeled RBC scan were conducted at the Institute in order to confirm the diagnosis of hemangioma in liver.

CASE REPORT: A 30 years old lady presented at Punjab Institute of Nuclear Medicine (PINUM) with the complaint of pain in RHC for the last 6 months. She had cholecystectomy 3 years back and remained all right for two and a half years. There was no history of jaundice, pruritis and change in bowel habits. Physical examination revealed healthy young lady with no positive findings. An abdominal ultrasonography was done followed by Tc-99m colloid liver scan and Tc-99m labeled RBC scan.
