Determinants of Lack of Clinical Competence among Senior Medical Students.

Objective: To study the relationship between socio-demographic factors and clinical competence among senior medical students in KEMU and to identify the most important determinant of lack of clinical competence in the medical students. Results: A total of 100 students (60 cases and 40 controls) were recruited in the study. Overall 50% of the total individuals were males and 50% were females. In bivariate analysis the socio-demographic factors found significantly related with clinical competence were burden of theoretical studies, failure of previous examination, hesitation and lack of appreciation.
