Pak J Med Health Sci Jan ;12(1):509-12.

Background: The incidence of pre-mature diastolic dysfunction in increases many folds in past decade in conjunction with obesity. Aim : To sort-out the frequency of pre mature diastolic patients in relation to presence of Obesity. Methods: This cross sectional study was conducted in Department of Medicine, DHQ Hospital Sheikhupura from January to May 2017. Total 237 patients were included in study with obesity of more than five years. Pre mature diastolic dysfunction was asses by Echocardiography. Body mass index 1 year:<16 years). Diastolic Dysfunction was check according to the need of the body in presence of obesity. Results: Out of all 237 patients with premature diastolic dysfunction, 203 (82.3%) had obesity, and male to female ratio 3:1. Patients with obesity from infancy had a higher prevalence of premature diastolic dysfunction (P<0.03). Patients with high waist to hip ratio had diastolic dysfunction prominently after statistics with P=0.002. BMI was directly correlate with Left ventricular filling pressure Conclusion: These data specify that majority of patients with high BMI results in premature diastolic dysfunction. As a consequence increased risk ultimately develops to heart failure.
