Caregivers stress and quality of life among female family members of poly drug abusers.

Objectives: To inquire caregiver stress as a predictor of quality of life (physical health, psychological health, social relationship and better environment) among female family members of poly drug abusers. Methodology: Two hundred women were recruited through convenient sampling technique from drug treatment and rehabilitation centers located in Lahore. A Brief Interview Form, Kingston Caregiver Stress Scale (KCSS-10) and Quality of Life Scale (QOF-26) were used to collect data. Pearson correlation coefficient and linear regression were used for data analysis. Results: Caregiver stress was a significant predictor of quality of life (? =-.556(t (198) = -9.423,p = .000), physical health (? =-.372(t(198)=-5.635,p = .000), psychological Health (? =-5.11(t(198)=-8.367,p= .000), better environment (? =-.514(t(198)=-8.423,p=.000) and social relationship (?=-.476(t(198)=-7.625,p=.000). Conclusion: Caregiver stress plays a significant predictive role in quality of life among female family members of poly drug abusers.
