Pak Paed J Jan ;44(3):284-6.

Dysphagia lusoria is a rare cause of dysphagia and vomiting which is caused by the presence of aberrant subclavian artery. Majority of these patients are asymptomatic and intervention is only required in those patients who present with dysphagia or vomiting. Clinical suspicion, barium esphagogram and endoscopic examination may indicate abnormality but CT/MRI is needed for confirmation of diagnosis and planning the final treatment. The choice of surgical treatment requires judicious deliberation based on various factors.
