The prevalence of UTI significantly increased with parity, however duration of pregnancy was not significantly associated with it. Patients having past history of urological problems showed more susceptibility to UTI. The prevalence of different pathogens isolated were Escherichia coli (21.74%) Pseudomonas spp. (12.6%), Klebsiella spp. (1.74%), Proteus spp. (0.87%) Staphylococcus epidermitis (0.87%), Staphylococcus saphrophyticus (0.87%) and Citrobacter spp. (0.87%). Conclusion: Although symptoms play a major role in diagnosis but we did not find any correlation of symptoms with the prevalence UTI. UTI occurs in all age groups of pregnant and control women, however with increasing age, the prevalence of UTI significantly increases. Prevalence of UTI increases with parity.
