Objective: To find poor adherence among cases of schizophrenia reporting to a tertiary care public hospital. Methodology: This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted at the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Centre (JPMC), Karachi from July to December 2018. It included 190 patients of schizophrenia. We used non-probability consecutive sampling. Poor adherence was determined through Medication Adherence Rating Scale (MARS). Data were analyzed using SPSS version 22. Results: Out of 190 cases, 62.10% were male and 37.90% females. Age was between 25 to 35 years. We found that 47.90% were single, 44.20% married and 6.3% divorced and 1.6% were separated. Amongst all, 33.7% were household worker followed by jobless, skilled professionals, unskilled professional, and shopkeeper. Poor adherence was present among 111 (58.4%).
