Experience of Intussusception in Fatima Memorial Hospital, Lahore - Incidence of a lead point in intussusception.
Pak J Paed Surg Jan ;3(1,2):16-21.

Intussusception is one of the most common causes of intestinal obstruction in children under the age of 5 years. The cause remains obscure in over 90 percent of the cases. Intussusception with an intestinal mass as a "lead point", may be the first indicator of childhood malignancy. We report two cases with recurrent attacks of intussusception, who needed repeated hospitalization. In both cases a lead point was found. It was an ileal polyp in one and a caecal lymphoma in the other. A record of all cases of Intussusception dealt with at Fatima Memorial Hospital between 1988 and December 1994 is also analyzed for details of symptomatology and results.
