Abdominal Tuberculosis.
Pak J Chest Med Jan ;7(Suppl):33-6.

Abdominal tuberculosis is difficult to diagnose and requires a high index of suspicion on the part of clinician. Generally it presents with chronic symptoms of abdominal pain and altered bowel habits for months or even years. In about one third of patients the chronic course is interrupted by an acute attack. Acute presentation includes intestinal obstruction, perforation, peritonitis and lower gastrointestinal bleeding requiring emergency laparotomy. The symptoms and signs vary with the site of involvement, the type of lesion and the mode of presentation. This is a review article.
