Subject: TBI ICF Core Sets Expert Survey
To:
Dear Dr. Farooq Rathore,
In the context of an international research project, we are currently looking for health professionals with expertise in the treatment of patients with Traumatic Brain Injury.
The project is a collaboration effort of the Institut Guttmann, Badalona, Spain, in cooperation among the ICF Research Branch Collaboration Centre of the Family of International Classifications (DIMDI, Germany) at the Ludwig-Maximilian University in Munich (Germany), the International Brain Injury Association ( IBIA), the International Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ISPRM), the CAS (Classification, Assessment and Surveys) team of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Federation of Neurorehabilitation (WFNR).
The objective of the research project is to develop ICF Core Sets for TBI and thereby facilitating the implementation of the ICF in the research, clinical practice, and teaching concerning TBI. This will happen through an international and open consensus process based on the evidence derived from different preparatory studies.
One of these preparatory studies is an electronic-based expert survey with health professionals from different professions worldwide. Therefore, we start with the recruitment of experts from different health professions which are involved in the treatment of people with TBI. As experts we are looking for physicians, neuropsychologists, nurses, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and social workers.
With this email we kindly want to ask you to participate in this survey and to provide us with names and contact details of other experienced health professionals who could be interested regarding the participation in this survey.
Your help at this stage of the project is of outmost importance.
We want to thank you in advance for your collaboration on behalf of Professor Gerold Stucki, director of the ICF Research Branch. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. Thanks a lot for your help in advance.
Yours sincerely,
VerĂ³nica Robles, MD
Brain Injury Unit,
Institut Guttmann
Spain
